Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. College coaches are dealing with the potential of a spring football season.
Major conferences like the Big Ten and Pac-12 have postponed the fall football season with hopes of playing in the spring. Although universities do not know the full effects of a spring football season, it could impact the 2021 lacrosse season.
Coaches like Colorado’s Ann Elliott Whidden and Maryland’s Cathy Reese and John Tillman weigh in, in addition to ESPN’s Anish Shroff. Read up on how a spring football season could influence lacrosse.
2. The COVID-19 pandemic reaches Vanderbilt women’s lacrosse.
The Vanderbilt Hustler reports that a number of players on the Commodores’ women’s lacrosse team tested positive for COVID-19 last week. The news comes immediately after members of Vanderbilt’s football team tested positive.
The university confirmed the news and said the players are currently in isolation.
3. Tom Schreiber and the Toronto Rock make it official.
Schreiber, the top American player in the NLL and a U.S. national team member, re-upped with the Rock after dropping 271 points in 52 games in Toronto.
