Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Who’s the best advocate of 2022?
That’s up to you to decide. This #BestofLax2022 category recognizes the people who impacted the game and community outside the lines. Nominees include Delaware State’s Sydney Anderson, Vanderbilt’s Cailin Bracken, Cannons’ attackman Lyle Thompson and USA Lacrosse legend Taylor Cummings. There’s still some time to cast your vote here and read about the nominees here.
2. Ricky Miezan headed to Virginia
Speaking of #BestofLax2022, Jared Bernhardt took home “Best in another sport” for his lacrosse-to-football transformation. But Ricky Miezan is looking to do the reverse. The former Stanford football captain will suit up for Virginia men’s lacrosse this spring, according to a report from The Lacrosse Network.
3. Seals remain first in NLL power rankings.
Week two of the NLL season is in the books, and the San Diego Seals are still the top team in Jack Goods’ power rankings. Rochester, Halifax, Albany and Saskatchewan round out the top five.
