Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. The Syracuse women survived another upset bid by Albany, which has given the Orange fits in recent years. Syracuse blew by its first four opponents by an average margin of 10.5 goals, but found tougher sledding against the Great Danes, who used a 6-2 run to take a late lead at the Carrier Dome before the Orange scored on two free positions — including Riley Donahue’s clincher with 9.1 seconds remaining for the 13-12 win.

But the best 8-meter work of the night came from sharpshooter Nicole Levy.

2. This week’s Nike/US Lacrosse rankings included a major shakeup of the Division I Men’s Top 20, setting the stage for a killer Saturday that will feature three separate Top 10 showdowns — North Carolina at Denver, Maryland at Notre Dame, Penn at Penn State. On the women’s side, there are two new, but not so new, No. 1 teams in Maryland and Adelphi.

3. The Epoch/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are familiar faces. Johns Hopkins goalie Gerald Logan, a Michigan transfer, and Penn midfielder Alex Condon both earned the same nod in 2016. Logan made 16 saves in a breakout performance against North Carolina and Condon singlehandedly outscored the Blue Jays women with eight goals.

• Jack Coan, the two-sport Sayville (N.Y.) standout who chose Wisconsin football over Notre Dame lacrosse, enrolled early to report for spring football. He trained with Phil Simms over the summer.

• Atlanta Blaze goalie and University of Utah assistant coach Adam Ghitelman sees lacrosse making a difference in kids’ lives in an impoverished Nicaragua community.

• Mount St. Mary’s assistant Tim McIntee was pressed into head coaching duties against Furman on Saturday after Tom Gravante was hit by a ball under his right eye during pregame warm-ups.

• Former Syracuse club player Matthew Barbaccia is biking across the country for Parkinson’s disease.

• In Scotland, the birthplace of women’s lacrosse, one-time laxer Pam Smith made headlines after becoming the first female captain at Crail Golfing Society in the club’s 230 years.
