Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1Hampton has found its next men’s lacrosse coach.

Chazz Woodson, an at-large board member for US Lacrosse and director of Sankofa Lacrosse Foundation, was named the program’s next coach on Monday. He’ll replace Rashad Devoe, who took a head coach position at Amherst.

Woodson grew up in nearby Norfolk, Va. This is his first collegiate coaching job after a lengthy professional career. He played 10 years in Major League Lacrosse.

2. Jules Heningburg has exited the PLL Championship Series.

Heningburg, a leader in the lacrosse community during the Black Lives Matter movement, revealed on Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19 in June. He was asymptomatic and traveled to Utah this week.

On-site testing revealed that Heningburg, an electric attackman for Redwoods LC, is at high risk for cardiac arrest under high intensity training.

3. The Philadelphia Barrage have their first win since 2008.

Mark Matthews led the charge with four goals and one assist as the Barrage topped the Hammerheads. The Bayhawks improved to 3-0 by defeating the Cannons.

4. The Bay Area Sand Sharks, a youth lacrosse club in Tampa, lost everything in a fire.

The team’s equipment shed caught fire late Saturday night, causing them to lose everything — including nets, balls, uniforms and memorabilia.
