1. It's been a banner year for rookies in Major League Lacrosse, but Florida's Dylan Molloy and Chesapeake's Josh Byrne are emerging as the favorites to win the league's Rooke of the Year honor. Molloy had a career-high six goals in Florida's 18-12 win over Charlotte on Saturday and has 19 goals in seven games. Byrne had seven goals in his Bayhawks' debut on June 10 and has had at least four goals in each of Chesapeake's last three games. Byrne has 28 goals in seven games.
2. One of the best games of the 2017 Rathbones FIL Women's Lacrosse World Cup was England's 10-9 overtime win against Australia in the bronze medal game — a result that gave the host nation its first World Cup medal in 12 years. England coach Phil Collier said, "The medal is tangible proof of the progress we have made."
3. Maryland replaced assistant coach Kevin Conry, the new head coach at Michigan, with a former great – Jesse Bernhardt. Bernhardt, a two-time All-American for the Terps, and a current member of the 2018 U.S. training team, was the defensive coordinator at Princeton last year.

US Lacrosse announced 14 new programs have joined the Urban Lacrosse Alliance, bringing the total number of programs to 55. US Lacrosse will host its first-ever affiliates conference for these programs at its national headquarters in Sparks, Md., on August 5-6.
