Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Chris Hogan is on the move.
The Cannons LC midfielder has been sent to Whipsnakes LC along with Drew Simoneau in exchange for Kevin Reisman. The report comes from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk and has yet to be confirmed by the league on social media.
Hogan, who was never traded during his nine-year NFL career that featured a productive tenure with the Patriots, played in one game for the Cannons — ironically against the Whipsnakes.
Whipsnakes coach Jim Stagnitta must have liked what he saw from the former All-ECAC selection at Penn State, at least enough to make a push to acquire him.
More to come on this story, but read PFT’s report here.
2. Virginia gains another top commit.
Tim Myers, a midfielder from St. Anne’s Belfield (Va.), has flipped his commitment from Navy to UVA, writes Tanner Demling of Lacrosse Bucket.
The three-star prospect grew up in Charlottesville and feels at home with the Cavaliers.
3. Another training weekend in the books.
The U.S. women’s national team had another training camp this past weekend, welcoming fans into the stand to witness a fast-paced intersquad contest. The 36 players are all in the mix to be named to the final roster, as are the other players in the 60-plus player pool.
