1. The college lacrosse season culminates this week, but the pros are just warming up.

• The Premier Lacrosse League’s inaugural training camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., continued with practices, scrimmages and non-stop social media giving fans an all-access look at the players and personalities.

• The U.S. men’s indoor training team reports to Baltimore today for the beginning of its own three-day camp, highlighted by a Blue-White scrimmage at Coppermine DuBurns Arena on Wednesday.

• The Women’s Professional Lacrosse League announced that it would unveil new team names and logos today.

• Phil Shore’s Major League Lacrosse preview starts with looks at the Atlanta Blaze and Boston Cannons, both of which have been busy this offseason.

2. The Calgary Roughnecks are one step closer to their first National Lacrosse League championship since 2009 thanks to a virtuoso performance by 21-year-old goalie Christian Del Bianco.

• ESPN’s Paul Carcaterra with NCAA championship predictions and brief analysis of all four semifinalists.

• Taking a page out of Penn State football coach James Franklin’s book, the top-seeded Nittany Lions are calling for a whiteout from their home state fans and alumni.

• Everyone has an opinion on instant replay after the controversial game-tying goal by Virginia’s Michael Kraus in its overtime win over Maryland in the NCAA quarterfinals. Terps coach John Tillman supports it, Virginia coach Lars Tiffany opposes it, and the self-PressBox’s mythical commissioner of college lacrosse says it’s needed.

• Virginia’s depth chart changes constantly based on practice performance, a tool coach Lars Tiffany has used to build meaningful depth and foster a sense of competition.

• Lacrosse Hall of Famer, Onondaga faith keeper and nationally renowned conservationist Oren Lyons was honored for his lifetime achievements.

A May snowstorm would not get in the way of the Colorado High School Athletic Association state championship game. Cherry Creek defeated Kent Denver 12-7 to claim the 5A title. The Bruins are coached by former Denver Outlaws standout Matt Bocklet.
