2. “Few have impacted so many.”
Jerry Schnydman died Monday after a long bout with cancer at the age of 77. A three-time All-American as a dominant faceoff specialist and midfielder at Johns Hopkins, Schnydman was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2003.
“He admitted me to college, became a mentor, supporter no matter what and true friend,” legendary former Johns Hopkins player and coach and current Syracuse assistant Dave Pietramala tweeted Monday. “Few have impacted so many.”

3. The National Lacrosse League inked a multi-year broadcast deal with ESPN.
All of the league’s games this season, which begins on Dec. 3, will air on ESPN+ or one of ESPN’s linear networks. Back in July the league also announced a multi-year deal where TSN will air games in Canada.
“Over five years we’ve gone from nothing… to this,” NLL commissioner Nick Sakiewicz told Sportico. “I get asked all the time, like, how does a league like ours get exposure? How do we play with the big boys? And it’s an evolution.”
4. Pat Spencer is one step closer to the NBA.
The 2019 Tewaaraton Award winner and Loyola alum made the training camp roster for the Capital City Go-Go, an NBA G League team based in Washington, D.C. “It’s the next step for me in pursuit of my NBA goal," Spencer told Inside Lacrosse Monday.
After spending a graduate year playing basketball at Northwestern, Spencer went overseas to play for the Hamburg (Germany) Towers.
