Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. It’s early, but we began ranking the top 25 in men’s and women’s lax.

Last season ended abruptly, and we’re still not quite sure when we’ll see college lacrosse back on the field. But there was a ton of player movement this summer, so we’re taking a crack at forecasting the 2021 season.

We started with Nos. 25-21.

MEN | WOMEN

On the men’s side, Patrick Stevens noted that “college lacrosse is a little more fun when the Dane Train is rolling,” and with Albany checking in at No. 25, there’s a chance the Great Danes crack the top 20 in 2021. With returners like Tehoka Nanticoke, Jakob Patterson, Corey Yunker, Graydon Hogg and Ron John, Albany is as talented as the other America East contenders.

On the women’s side, Stanford will welcome two highly touted freshmen from Darien (Ct.) in Ashley Humphrey and Sarah Jacques. The duo missed their senior seasons due to COVID-19, but as juniors, they combined for 147 goals, 97 assists and 40 ground balls.

2. Go inside the September/October edition of US Lacrosse Magazine.

The latest edition of the mag is starting to hit homes. In the issue, you’ll find our cover story, a must-read feature from Nelson Rice about Whipsnakes LC star and PLL MVP Zed Williams.

Also inside: How Virginia Tech’s Angie Benson got a second chance at college lacrosse and found her voice in the process, and 15 ways lacrosse can return stronger.
