Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Australian lacrosse legend Sue Sofarnos died unexpectedly this weekend.
Sofarnos was a five-time World Cup veteran with Australia, making the All-World Team in 1982 and taking gold in 1986. She also won gold as an assistant on the 2005 Australia team and silver as the head coach in 2009.
Most recently, Sofarnos was the general manager of the 2021 Australian national team. More on her legacy.
2. The lacrosse community remembers former Navy player Brendan Looney on the 10th anniversary of his death in Afghanistan. Looney and his two brothers helped lead Navy to the national championship game in 2004.
