Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Jon Mazza, a rising senior attackman, was given his release to transfer from Towson, coach Shawn Nadelen said Tuesday.
The Baltimore Sun received confirmation from Nadelen via text.
This past season, Mazza recorded 16 goals and eight assists in eight starts, but was suspended for the remainder of the season for a violation of team rules.
The loss of the rising senior attackman's 16 goals and eight assists in just eight starts in 2018 may hurt, but I would anticipate that @Towson_MLAX will find other sources for points -- beginning with the return of four projected starters. https://t.co/jJuj6qq9Kr

2. Andy Shay, coach of the 2018 NCAA men’s lacrosse champion Yale, was announced as a featured speaker at the 2019 US Lacrosse Convention, set for Jan. 11-13 in Philadelphia.
“Whether it’s new X’s and O’s of lacrosse or best practices in other aspects of coaching, the US Lacrosse Convention represents a great learning opportunity for lacrosse coaches at all levels,” Shay said. “I’m looking forward to speaking at the event.”
3. The Boston Box Lacrosse League has caught the attention of the NLL and U.S. indoor men’s lacrosse team for its American talent.
“The Boston Box Lacrosse League is the best combination of talent, in my opinion, excluding Canada or anything over the border,” said Mike Maggio, the former top overall pick in the NALL, who now coaches in Winchester and plays in the BBLL.
