Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The U.S. women's team fell behind Wales, 1-0, yesterday but rallied for a 17-6 win to wrap up World Cup pool play at 5-0. Kayla Treanor had four goals and one assist for Team USA, which draws Israel in the quarterfinals at 10 a.m. ET today. Scores from the World Cup yesterday:

2. Team USA midfielder Laura Zimmerman authored the "Mission Log" player blog, focusing on the importance of team bonding as pool play wrapped up. Curious, perhaps, that the former North Carolina Tar Heel's favorite restaurant in Guildford is Turtle Bay. One might think a refusal to dine there more likely, if only for spite.
3. More from the World Cup, as the Haudenosaunee team posted an impressive 4-1 record in pool play. But for players and team officials, traveling to the United Kingdom under their own passports may represent the bigger victory, reports our Megan Schneider.
4. The International World Games has secured television and streaming coverage in the United States. Team USA will head directly to Wroclaw, Poland, after the FIL World Cup to compete July 27-30 in the World Games, representing the first time in the games' history that women's lacrosse will be part of the event lineup.
5. Matt DaSilva, our beloved editor in chief and ankle-biting defenseman in lacrosse and noon-time hoops, believes multi-sport participation should include non-sport activites. From the July/August print edition of US Lacrosse Magazine, he advances the concept that his mastery of the saxophone helped him orchestrate slide packages as a point defender and laments the axe performing arts budgets sometimes receive from public school systems. What say you?
