Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Nakeie Montgomery is taking his talents to the gridiron.
Montgomery, the shifty, play-making Duke midfielder, surprised the lacrosse world yesterday by announcing that he’ll play for the Blue Devils’ football team this fall. He’s listed on the team’s roster as a running back.
Montgomery is listed as a graduate student. It’s unclear if he’ll also play lacrosse in the spring. There’s more coming on this story later today from Nelson Rice.
2. Conor Calderone has transferred to Boston U.
Calderone, a former five-star recruit who spent time at Maryland before entering the transfer portal, is taking his talents to the Terriers, Ty Xanders reports.
A U.S. U21 national team camp invitee, Calderone appeared in six games over two seasons with the Terps.
3. Dylan Molloy is set to take the field in the PLL.
Molloy, who has been the subject of constant Internet campaigning from friends, fans and other players, has finally gotten his shot in the PLL. He was signed by Chrome LC on Monday.
The superstar from Brown could step into a large role right away with the season-ending injuries to Jordan Wolf and Randy Staats.
