Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Princeton spoiled Bill Tierney’s homecoming Tuesday, upsetting seventh-ranked Denver 14-13 in “as thrilling a game as has ever been played on Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium,” as described in the recap posted on the school’s website. Tewaaraton candidate Michael Sowers was sensational with three goals and three assists, showing off his exceptional dodging abilities in front of a national TV audience on ESPNU, as the Tigers ended a four-game losing streak and denied Tierney’s 400th career win. It was the Hall of Fame coach’s first game back at the place where he won six NCAA championships since he left for Denver in 2009.

2. Florida, which halted a three-game losing streak at Stony Brook on Saturday, put on offensive fireworks Tuesday in a 22-11 victory over Brown. The 17th-ranked Gators busted open a 6-6 tie with six unanswered goals in the final 4:33 of the first half. Lindsey Ronbeck (six goals, two assists), Shannon Kavanagh (five goals), Madi Hall (four goals, one assist) and Brianna Harris (two goals, five assists) starred in the win over the Bears, who were coming off of a breakthrough win over Princeton.

3. An NCAA recruiting proposal that would permit coaches to contact prospective student-athletes starting June 15 after their sophomore year of high school has lacrosse coaches concerned about reversing the progress made on early recruiting with the lacrosse-specific legislation passed barely two years ago. The NCAA Division I Council will meet April 17-19 to vote on it.

4. Yale coach Andy Shay is the guest on Episode 7 of “Overtime” with Paul Carcaterra. The podcast, which dropped Tuesday (listen on iTunes or Spotify), revisits Shay’s modest roots as a one-time Zamboni driver (among other odd jobs) and assistant coach at Delaware and UMass before landing as the head coach at Yale and eventually winning an NCAA championship.
