Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The NLL is expected to make a “major announcement” today, but “not a good one,” according to Jake Elliott, host of the Lacrosse Classified podcast by LaxAllStars. His tweet sparked a thread that posed several questions.
Sources saying the @NLL is set to make a major announcement tomorrow and I quote “It’s NOT a good one“ #NLLCBA

First, at no time did i say the major announcement was to cancel the ENTIRE season. I said “it’s NOT a good one“
— Jake Elliott (@PxP4Sports) November 21, 2018
I have yet to confirm this with a direct source but I’m hearing now that weeks 3 and 4 of the season will be cancelled by the @NLL tomorrow. #NLLCBA
If this announcement is made, it will come nine days after league commissioner Nick Sakiewicz wrote a letter to Professional Lacrosse Players Association president Peter Schmitz, which noted that the start of the season was in jeopardy. Then on Nov. 15, the NLL and PLPA failed to reach an agreement, causing the first two weekends of the season to be cancelled.
Yesterday, Elliott posted a podcast with Toronto Rock owner Jamie Dawick, who chimed in on the NLL-PLPA CBA negotiations, saying “we’re on life support.”

Have you guys considered getting a Mediator?! This has gotten way out of control. Please think long and hard what both of you are considering doing right now. Stop it. Get in a room and don’t come out. Seriously. THINK OF THE FANS ! @NLLcommish @Finschp @NLL @PLPAlax #NLLCBA

With the assistance of Blue Streak trainers Desmond Hinds and Alex Joseph, Sutton focused on three key exercises that help with injury prevention – Bulgarian split squats, physio ball pikes and pogo passes.
