Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. In just over a week, tryouts for the 2019 U.S. Men's Indoor Team begin at the Lacrosse All Stars North American Invitational. The U.S. will be split up into two teams that will compete in the event as part of its training weekend under head coach Regy Thorpe. Both teams begin play on Sept. 27.
2. The LASNAI event will come on the heels of the National Lacrosse League Draft, which is set for Sept. 25 and will be streamed live on Bleacher Report. In a pretty cool turn of events, Patrick Merrill, the first pick in the 2002 NLL Draft, will make the first selection. He's the general manager and head coach of the expansion San Diego Seals.
3. A redshirt year forced Alex Kahoe to wait, but it was well worth it. She went on to help Maryland win four national championships and next week she'll be inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
4. Jeffrey Wright didn't win an Emmy on Monday night for his work on the HBO show "Westworld" - he was up for best lead actor in a drama series - but it's another pretty amazing accomplishment in the career of the former Amherst player. Here's a look back at a story we did about his lacrosse background and acting career last year.
5. Major League Lacrosse continues to announce a flury of signings. Among names announced on Tuesday were former Team USA player Matt Abbott (Chesapeake), Zed Williams (Boston), Ryan McNamara (Dallas) and a pair of faceoff specialists — Ben Williams (Florida) and Jake Withers (Charlotte). Here's a look at a sweet goal from Zed Williams from earlier this year.
Backpedaling no-look BTB? Sure, why not. See where this Zed Williams goal lands on the @BostonCannons Top 10 plays of 2018 on Lacrosse Now at 9pm ET on the free LSN app (get it here https://t.co/QyCj6BaBwK) or https://t.co/oJkK8CQ2nw #LSNCANNONSWEEK pic.twitter.com/BcxkLKZKzs

6. One of the really cool thing about our headquarters at US Lacrosse is seeing lacrosse teams come from near and far to play on the field and visit the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum. On Tuesday we had some visitors making a really long trip — the Waseda University team came from Japan for practice and a museum tour led by our archivist Joe Finn.

WHAT WE’RE READING
-
Denver picked up a big get with Fresno State transfer Kenzie Wallevand. Wallevand was the 2018 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Rookie of the Year after netting 19 goals and 10 assists for the Bulldogs.
-
Former New York Giants general manager George Young wasn't a fan of Bill Belichick's lacrosse background.
-
Pretty neat look at Shoreham Wading River junior defenseman Jack Schirtzer. Early in his career he was a lefty attackman, until his Team 91 Crush club teammate Brennan O'Neill, the No. 1 recruit in the country, moved to attack. Schirtzer shifted to defense and now he's committed to a school well-known for producing impact defensemen, Maryland.
-
Neil Hutchinson has been hired at Notre Dame as a men's assistant coach.
-
US Lacrosse will continue to partner with the MCLA in selecting a player of the month during the season.
-
Congratulations to US Lacrosse Magazine contributor Marisa Ingemi, who will be covering the Boston Bruins for the Boston Herald.
