The NCAA Division III men’s lacrosse quarterfinals are set, as the favored teams all held serve in Saturday’s round of 16.

• For the second time this season, Tufts ran roughshod over Stevenson, scoring 11 of the first 12 goals en route to a 19-4 victory. Max Waldbaum (five goals), and Ben Connelly (four goals) led the outburst. The Jumbos will play NESCAC foe Amherst in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

• Salisbury scored three goals in 42 seconds to close out the first half, and carried that momentum into the third quarter to turn a two-goal game into a laugher, defeating Lynchburg 18-10. Zach Pompea had a game-high five points on two goals and three assists. The Sea Gulls meet Denison in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

• Denison has been a slow-starting team this season. The Big Red had no such issues Saturday, scoring four goals in the first three minutes en route to an 11-7 win over Rhodes. Denison led 5-0 before Jonathon Hazlehurst singlehandedly brought Rhodes back with three goals 80 seconds. Addison Mueller made it a one-goal game in the second quarter, but then the Big Red pulled away with another five-goal run. Peter Pittroff had three goals and two assists for Denison.

• There will be no repeat for defending NCAA champion Wesleyan. In a tense back-and-forth game in which neither team led by more than two goals until the fourth quarter, Amherst made the definitive run, scoring four unanswered goals midway through the final frame and defeating the Cardinals 16-13. The Mammoths trailed 11-10 before that flurry, punctuated by two goals separated by just six seconds when Dylan Finazzo took a faceoff after a goal to the house himself to make it 14-11. Finazzo finished 18-for-29 and Matt Solberg scored four goals for Amherst.

• Cory Lund and Kevin Stump scored five goals each as Williams held off St. John Fisher 17-12. Lund now has a program single-season record 62 goals for the Ephs, who will play RIT in the quarterfinals.

• Jordan Krug became Cabrini’s all-time leading scorer, scoring five goals and doling out three assists in the Cavaliers’ 15-8 win over Springfield. Krug surpassed Casey Grogan (334) and now has 339 points for his career. Cabrini meets York in the quarterfinals Wednesday.

• York scored three unanswered goals to start the fourth quarter and held off a late charge by Washington and Lee, defeating the Generals 14-12. Hunter Davis led the Spartans with four goals.

• Playing Union for the third time in the last 17 days, RIT withstood a heroic rally by the Dutchmen and held on for a 10-9 victory. The Engineers led 10-4 late in the third quarter. Union showed signs of life with two goals in the final minute of the frame, including James Diver’s diving tally with two seconds left. The Dutchmen added three more unanswered goals in the fourth quarter and had possession with 20 seconds remaining, but RIT’s Chandler Allen caused a turnover on Hayden Frey to seal the win.
