The Epoch/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’ and girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast (begins next week), Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. Northeast
Jillian Girardi, Watertown (N.Y.)
The senior has 28 goals and three assists as Watertown is off to a 3-1 start. She opened the season with seven goals and two assists in a win over Watertown Immaculate Heart (N.Y.), followed up with seven goals against Fulton (N.Y.). and then had six goals and one assist in a win over Owego (N.Y.). Girardi, who is headed to Northwestern, also scored eight goals in a 10-9 loss to Cicero-North Syracuse (N.Y.).

Lila Barker, Agnes Irwin (Pa.)
The senior midfielder provided the offensive spark the Owls needed to stay perfect last week. Barker was the scorer in last Tuesday’s win over then-No. 4 Good Counsel (Md.), posting a team-best five goals in a 12-11 decision. The Virginia recruit did more creating for others Thursday with two goals and five assists in a 17-7 victory at perennially tough Vero Beach (Fla.).

Bridget Deehan, Milton (Ga.)
The senior goalie had 32 total saves in three big wins last week for Milton. Deehan, a Notre Dame commit, had eight saves in a 19-6 win over Lambert (Ga.) and tallied 12 saves in both a 9-4 win over Holy Cross (Md.) and a 14-12 win over Robinson (Va.). She was strong clearing the ball and directing the defense.

During Loyola Academy’s tough four-game swing to the East Coast, Kane scored 13 goals and added four helpers. The Marquette-bound senior finished the week with a six-goal performance against Stone Ridge (Va.).

Madeline Hooks, Mater Dei (Calif.)
The senior had a hand in 10 of the Monarchs’ goals in a 15-8 win over St. Margaret’s (Calif.), tallying two goals and eight assists to lead the team. She has 19 goals and 39 assists this season.
