Sam Apuzzo, the Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse pro and former Tewaaraton Award winner at Boston College, shares her clumsy side.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A professional babysitter. My aunt used to babysit me and my brothers while my parents were at work and I always thought that would be the best job ever.

What was your most embarrassing moment on the field?

In my sophomore year of college, I was running though our team tunnel after my name was called out during the starting lineup. I tripped on my shoelace and did a penguin slide across the turf in front of everyone.

What’s one thing you can’t live without?

My Apple Watch. I wear it every single day, from the time I wake up to when I go to bed. Whenever I don’t have it on, I feel so lost.

Who is your role model?

I’ve always looked up to Shannon Smith. Shannon is from my hometown (West Babylon, N.Y.) and she has been my mentor in my lacrosse journey. She pushes me to step outside my comfort zone and reach my potential.

What childish things do you still do as an adult?

I always need to have something sweet after dinner.

If you were the Eighth Dwarf, what would your name be?

Clumsy.

What song can you listen to all day long?

Anything by Chris Stapleton, but if I had to choose one I would say “Tennessee Whiskey.”

If you didn’t go to BC, where else would you have gone?

Hofstra to play for Shannon Smith. However, going to BC was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
