Grace and Mary Griffin have a connection beyond that of almost any pair of Division I lacrosse players. The sisters grew up two of five siblings in Maryland, playing lacrosse and developing a bond in the backyard.

Grace now stars for Maryland women’s lacrosse, and Mary for Virginia Tech, but they remain as close as ever. They encourage each other through the highs, like Maryland’s 2019 national title run, and the lows, like Mary’s cancer diagnosis in 2020.

Now that Mary is healthy and playing again, the Griffin sisters are hoping the 2022 season is the best one yet.
