Altamont, N.Y. — Gait Lacrosse is excited to announce a multi-year partnership with Northwestern University women’s lacrosse star attacker Izzy Scane.
Scane is currently out for the 2022 season after suffering a torn ACL. The agreement provides the All-American and 2021 Big Ten Attacker of the Year with her own branded Gait AIR stick as well as input on the development of the future products.
Last season, Scane became the NCAA’s all-time record holder with 6.12 goals per game, becoming a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award in the process. In 2021, Scane scored 98 goals, making her second in the nation, and had 26 assists. Among her accolades for last season are first-team All-Big Ten and Big Ten tournament MVP, as well as IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week, USA Lacrosse Division I Women’s Player of the Week, five Big Ten offensive player of the week honors and IWCLA national co-player of the week.
“I am so excited to become an official part of a brand that I have been using my whole college career,” Scane said. “Having a personal stick design with Gait is a dream come true. Despite my injury, I am looking forward to having input on a product that I will be able to put to use once I am able to finally get back on the field.”
Gait Lacrosse launched in the fall of 2019 with only women’s lacrosse gear and a small assortment of men’s equipment. Now with a full suite of women’s gear and new lineup of men’s heads, the brand is on the forefront of its biggest year to date.
“Izzy is an offensive force and an unbelievably accomplished athlete,” said Paul Gait, owner of Gait Lacrosse. “She dominated in the 2021 season at Northwestern under Kelly’s (Amonte-Hiller) leadership, helping the team to the final four. Although her presence is missed on the field this season, we are proud to have her as an ambassador for our brand.”
Scane joins a list of elite women’s and men’s lacrosse athletes as well as eleven college lacrosse programs in the Gait Family.
