Joe Alberici has always been a leader. He said he has been lucky to serve as head coach at Army, a school that produces leaders at a higher clip than almost any other institution.

The grandson of Italian immigrants, Alberici watched his first lacrosse game in 1984, when Syracuse and Army faced off in the NCAA tournament. Now, he's at the helm of the Army program and hoping to maintain the legacy of over a century before him. Alberici has been known for his compassionate approach to coaching the Black Knights, and he uses his degree in education to help him lead a quality Division I program.

His success at Army has led many to speculate about future job opportunities, but Alberici says he's happy at West Point, where he has a home on campus.

This Memorial Day, Alberici talked with "Overtime" host Paul Carcaterra about what it's like to teach at a service academy and whether he believes he can bring Army to the NCAA promised land.
