Kole Pollock, Adelphi's dynamic goal-scorer, has been named the US Lacrosse Magazine Division II Women’s Preseason Player of the Year. In part due to Pollock's talents, Adelphi is the top-ranked team in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Preseason Top 20.
She scored a team-high 81 goals in 2019 and earned IWLCA Player and Attacker of the Year honors. She earned NCAA Most Outstanding Player honors as well, scoring 18 goals in four games during Adelphi's run to a national championship. She even scored the game-winner in double-overtime to beat top-seeded Le Moyne, 12-11, in the second round of the tournament.
The senior, who has scored more than 200 goals in her career, is on pace to finish as Adelphi's career scoring leader.
“Kole is the total package,” Adelphi coach Pat McCabe told US Lacrosse Magazine. “She gets noticed for her goals, but she does the things that are tough for the outside world to measure. Draw controls, rides, leadership. She doesn’t take a drill off in practice. She wants to be great.”
Preseason accolades, along with Top 20 rankings, will be featured in the January edition of US Lacrosse Magazine, which drops Jan. 2.
