In a Division II men’s lacrosse season that featured plenty of parity — albeit with teams playing conference-only schedules — the NCAA championship went to a team familiar on Memorial Day Weekend.
Le Moyne, the No. 2 team in the Nike / USA Lacrosse Division II Men’s Top 20 through most of the season, topped Mercyhurst and then Lenoir-Rhyne en route to its sixth Division II national championship.
The Dolphins’ defense shut down the top two offenses in Division II and rightfully stand atop the final update to the Top 20.
The top 10 teams in the final rankings each made the NCAA tournament, which shrunk by two teams for 2021.
