ATLANTA — After taking down previously undefeated Florida on Monday night to improve to 5-0 on the season, Liberty has taken over the top spot in the New Balance MCLA Division I Weekly Coaches Poll for week three.

The Flames had the second-most first-place votes (nine) out of the 27 ballots cast but managed to float five total points clear of No. 2 Brigham Young (2-0). The Cougars were awarded 13 top votes.

Concordia-Irvine (4-0) remains in the third chair for the second straight week, bolstered by a pair of first-place votes. Clemson (8-1), which lost on Friday night to No. 10 Arizona State (4-1), drops to fourth with one top vote.

Florida (8-1), which grabbed a pair of first-place votes, moved up three spots despite the setback to Liberty.

Santa Clara (5-0) was the big mover this week, jumping 11 spots to No. 8 overall, one spot ahead of Virginia Tech (6-1). The Hokies moved up four spots.

Michigan State and Colorado departed the poll this week, making way for No. 22 Northeastern (4-0) and No. 24 Auburn (6-2).
