In a Division II men’s lacrosse season that’s just getting underway, we’ve seen few upsets capable of shaking up the top 20. This week, each team in our top 16 remains intact, with a couple teams having yet to play their first games.

Of note last week, Belmont Abbey continued a strong start with a 12-10 victory over a solid Florida Southern team. Queens (N.C.) also picked up an early win over Rollins.

The rankings will look a bit different in a week after more than a handful of games between ranked teams.

HOT

Lenoir-Rhyne (+2)

The Bears benefited from losses by teams ahead of them, but an early 2-0 start has been impressive. Lenoir-Rhyne has outscored Young Harris and Westminster 39-19 so far this season.

NOT

Rollins (-3)

The Tars jump back to No. 20 after scoring eight goals in a loss to Queens (N.C.) last week. Another test against Wingate on Feb. 29 awaits, so Rollins has a chance to jump right back up in the rankings.

Florida Southern (-1)

Florida Southern scored five of seven goals in the fourth quarter against Belmont Abbey, but it wasn’t enough to pull back. The loss shouldn’t be hard to shake off, but it moves the Mocs back in the top 20.
