After losing attackman Tommy Palasek to player movement last week, the New York Lizards acted quickly to upgrade the position, acquiring Denver Outlaws attackman Mike Bocklet for a pair of draft picks in a trade announced Monday.
Bocklet, who ranked second in Major League Lacrosse with 37 goals this season, signed with the Outlaws after an open tryout in 2015. He led the team in scoring that summer and has averaged 47 points per season, earning his first MLL All-Star Game nod in 2017.
Bocklet, 32, is the oldest of three Bocklet brothers in MLL. Matt Bocklet, 31, is a five-time MLL All-Star defenseman for the Outlaws. Chris Bocklet, 28, scored 22 goals as an attackman for the Atlanta Blaze this summer. The trio played together in Denver during the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
It was one hell of a run @Coach_Bocklet! Playing alongside you & @CRockN10 has been the highlight of my career. https://t.co/AbvtBS93eM

Mike Bocklet is the head coach at Purchase College, an NCAA Division III program in Westchester County (N.Y.) that recently completed its inaugural varsity season as a member of the Skyline Conference.
New York traded its seventh-round pick in the upcoming supplemental draft and its fourth-round selection in the 2018 collegiate draft.
In other MLL news, the 2017 champion Ohio Machine announced Monday they have signed goalie Scott Rodgers to a contract extension through the 2018 season.
“Scotty has developed into a vital part of our veteran core, which is why we made it clear that our priority was to keep him here to maintain continuity and build on the success of this group heading into next season,” coach Bear Davis said.
