Manhattan women’s lacrosse announced the hiring of head coach Jenna Dingler on Thursday. Dingler, a New Jersey native, comes to Manhattan after serving the past two season as head coach at Division II Caldwell.
Dingler steps into a role last held by Katie McConnell, who left her post to take the head coaching gig at Lafayette. McConnell spent three seasons with the Jaspers, leading the program to a 21-28 record and earning MAAC Coach of the Year in 2019.
"Our program took a huge step forward last year, and we believe that Jenna is the right person to keep the momentum going," said Director of Athletics Marianne Reilly. "Jenna is a promising young coach in women's lacrosse, who is aligned with our goals, mission and values."
Manhattan women’s lacrosse will now turn its focus to Dingler, who arrives after taking Caldwell to the CAAC final four. Dingler was a four-year star at Lock Haven, where she tallied 102 points including 89 points.
"It is a true honor and privilege to be named the head women's lacrosse coach at Manhattan College," Dingler said in the press release. "I felt the support for this program, as well as the focus on the student-athlete experience, the second I stepped on campus. I am extremely excited to start working with this outstanding and dedicated group of young women, and I'm eager to share my passion for this game and continue the success of the program."
