McDonogh (Md.) finished off another undefeated season, this time beating No. 5 Notre Dame Prep 12-9 and taking home another IAAM championship. It should be noted, and will continued to be noted until McDonogh falls, that the win streak stands at 177.

We also had three new teams crack the the Top 25 this week. Skaneateles (N.Y.) has won seven straight games, including a 9-6 victory over defending Class A state champion Christian Brothers Academy (N.Y.). West Genesee (N.Y.) and St. Anthony's (N.Y.) joined the rankings this week, as well.

2. Mount Sinai (N.Y.), 13-2

The Mustangs went 2-0 last week, posting easy wins over Sayville (N.Y.) and Islip (N.Y.). Meaghan Tyrrell totaled 11 goals and one assist in the two wins. Mount Sinai’s game against Skaneateles was cancelled last week due to an expected storm in Pennsylvania, where they were scheduled to play at a neutral site. 3. Brighton (N.Y.), 14-0

Brighton had a busy week but came through unscathed, posting wins over East Irondequoit Eastridge (N.Y.), Webster Thomas (N.Y.), Irondequoit (N.Y.) and Victor (N.Y.). Juniors Kathryn Lederman finished with six goals and eight assists, and Rene Gangaraossa totaled seven goals and three assists in the four wins. Brighton wraps up the regular season this week with games against Churchville-Chili (N.Y.) and Spencerport (N.Y.). Previous: 3

4. Darien (Conn.), 13-3

The Blue Wave went 3-0 last week, notching easy wins over Fairfield Ludlowe (Conn.), Norwalk (Conn.), and Fairfield Warde (Conn.) by a combined score of 61-16. Darien plays in the FCIAC league quarterfinals later this week. Previous: 4

5. Eastport-South Manor (N.Y.), 13-2

Kaitlyn Dowsett had four goals and four assists to lead E-SM to a 20-1 win over Center Moriches (N.Y.) last week. The Sharks open sectional tournament play this week. Previous: 5

6. Pittsford (N.Y.), 14-1

The Panthers won three games last week, beating Webster Schroeder (N.Y.), Spencerport (N.Y.), and Marcellus (N.Y.). Jillie Quevedo netted four goals in Pittsford’s 14-10 win over Marcellus. Pittsford closes the regular season against Irondequoit (N.Y.) on Wednesday. Previous: 7

7. Ward Melville (N.Y.), 16-0

The Patriots capped a perfect regular season with wins over Smithtown East (N.Y.), 17-4, and Huntington (N.Y.), 13-10. Kate Mulham had four goals in the Huntington game. Ward Melville, which has only allowed more than 10 goals in a game four times, starts postseason play this week. Previous: 8

8. Skaneateles (N.Y.), 10-4

The Lakers join the rankings as arguably the hottest team in upstate New York. With senior Kyla Sears (Princeton), one of the best players in the country, back in the lineup following minor surgery, Skaneateles has won seven straight. That run includes a 9-6 win over defending Class A state champion Christian Brothers Academy (N.Y.), as Sears, who missed all of the 2016 season with a knee injury, totaled three goals and one assist and Emily Baldwin stopped nine shots. 9. Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.), 12-3

The Phantoms closed the regular season with a pair of victories over Port Jefferson (N.Y.) and Sayville (N.Y.), winning by a combined score of 32-6. Cassidy Weeks finished with four goals in the Sayville game. Bayport-Blue Point opens postseason play this week. Previous: 9

10. Shoreham-Wading River (N.Y.), 12-2

1. McDonogh (Md.), 22-0

The Eagles’ unprecedented streak lives on. On Saturday, they edged then-No. 5 Notre Dame Prep (Md.), 12-9, to finish an eighth straight perfect season with another IAAM title. It was their 177th consecutive win in all. Maddie Jenner (Duke) dominated at the draw circle and scored three goals in the finale. Wins over St. Paul’s (Md.) and Glenelg Country (Md.) earlier in the week gave them a spot the championship. Previous: 1

2. Ridgewood (N.J.), 17-0 

The Maroons trailed Oak Knoll (N.J.) well into the second half Thursday but closed strong for a 10-8 win. Alex Absey (Columbia) provided the game-tying and go-ahead goals down the stretch and finished with five scores in all. Ridgewood grabbed another victory over Glen Ridge (N.J.) on Monday to extend their perfect start. Previous: 2  

3. Glenelg (Md.), 17-0

The Gladiators may have cleared their biggest hurdle to a repeat Maryland 3A/2A title with Monday’s 8-6 win over then-No. 23 Marriotts Ridge. They had a much easier time last week, blasting Oakland Mills (Md.) and Centennial (Md.) to start their latest playoff run. Previous: 3

4. Notre Dame Prep (Md.), 19-3

The Blazers put their best foot forward on the biggest stage but still couldn’t catch top-ranked McDonogh in an anticipated rematch. They fell, 12-9, in Saturday’s IAAM championship. Caitlynn Mossman (Boston College) capped a brilliant season with four goals and two assists in the setback. Previous: 4

5. St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.), 24-1

The Saints are ISL champions after beating Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) 12-9 on Monday. They also beat Bullis (Md.) and Holton-Arms (Md.) in rolling through the conference tournament. This week, they’ll try to capture a Virginia independent school crown. Previous: 5

6. Oak Knoll (N.J.), 15-4 

The Royals got through Lawrenceville (N.J.), 15-14, on Monday for the Prep A title but narrowly missed a much bigger splash last week. They led No. 2 Ridgewood by three goals at halftime Thursday before losing 10-8. Ali Baiocco (North Carolina) had four goals and two assists to stoke that upset bid. Previous: 6

7. Summit (N.J.), 14-2

The Hilltoppers breezed through the final week of the regular season with a 15-7 win over Kent Place (N.J.) on Thursday and a 14-4 victory over Morristown (N.J.) on Friday. Cecily Stabler tallied six total goals to pace a balanced offensive effort. Summit will begin the state tournament with a home game Thursday. Previous: 7

8. Bridgewater-Raritan (N.J.) 15-1

The Panthers needed a second-half rally to beat Bernards (N.J.), 10-5, for the Somerset County Tournament championship on Saturday. Hannah Hollingsworth and Tai Janowski scored three goals apiece in the comeback victory. They also knocked off Montgomery (N.J.) and Ridge (N.J.) last week on the way to their third straight county title. Previous: 8

9. Moorestown (N.J.), 15-2

The Quakers picked up a pair of quality non-league victories to close the regular season. They beat Agnes Irwin (Pa.), 16-8, on May 9, behind five goals from Cailin Field (Notre Dame). On Friday, they handed Lawrenceville (N.J.) its first loss of the season with Quinn Nicolai (Penn State) scoring five goals this time. Previous: 9

10.  Bishop Ireton (Va.), 16-5

Kayla Duperrouzel (Yale) and Madison Mote (Notre Dame) tallied four goals apiece to lead the Cardinals to a 12-4 win over Good Counsel on May 8 for their second straight WCAC title. Bishop Ireton will try to finish the season with a VIAA Tournament title. The Cardinals have the No. 2 seed behind St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes. Previous: 10

1. Milton (Ga.), 17-4

The Eagles rolled into the GHSA Final Four by beating Hillgrove 18-2 in the second round and then battling to a 12-3 win over ranked Lassiter in the Elite 8. They led just 4-2 at the half against Lassiter before pulling away in the second. Coach Tim Godby said it was their best all-around performance of the year. Bridget Deehan had 10 saves, and Kelly Hyman led the team with three goals and one assist. Milton plays North Gwinnett in the state semifinals on Wednesday. Previous: 1

2. Hutchison (Tenn.), 18-1

The Sting opened the state playoffs with a 21-5 win over Brentwood (Tenn.), and then smashed Baylor 24-3 in the quarterfinals to advance to the Final Four with a chance to once again defend their state championship. Hutchison plays Ensworth (Tenn.) in the semifinals Friday. Previous: 2

3. Bishop Moore (Fla.), 20-4

The Hornets beat St. Thomas Aquinas in double overtime to claim their first FHSAA state title and complete their season. They had lost to STA earlier in the season. Previous: 3

4. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 18-2

The Raiders were the Florida state runners-up after falling to Bishop Moore in the final to end a 16-game win streak. Their only other loss was against American Heritage-Delray (Fla.) in the third game of the season – one they avenged with an overtime win in the final stage before the state semifinals. Previous: 4

5. American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), 19-1

The Stallions suffered their only loss of the season in the third round of the Florida state playoffs, losing to St. Thomas Aquinas. Freshman Caitlyn Wurzburger finished the season with 101 goals and 117 assists. Previous: 5  

6. Episcopal School of Dallas (Texas), 20-2

The Eagles capped an impressive season by winning their first Texas state championship. They avenged their only in-state loss by beating Hockaday (Texas) in the final. Previous: 6

7. North Gwinnett (Ga.), 20-1

The Bulldogs picked up two big wins to advance to their first GHSA Final Four. They beat Roswell 17-5 in the second round of the playoffs, outshooting Roswell 28-14 as nine players scored for North Gwinnett. The Bulldogs then beat Chattahoochee 14-6 in the Elite 8 to earn a shot at top-ranked Milton in the semifinals Wednesday. Previous: 7 

8. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 18-2

The Crusaders have reached the Final Four and will defend their NCHSAA state championship beginning Tuesday against Broughton (N.C.). They beat Millbrook (N.C.) 20-0 in the third round, then advanced to the semifinals with a 17-4 win over previously-unbeaten Apex (N.C.). Previous: 8

9. Lassiter (Ga.), 17-4

The Trojans’ season ended in the GHSA Elite 8 with a 14-3 loss to top-ranked Milton. Lassiter trailed just 4-2 at halftime, but couldn’t break through in the second half. Previous: 9

10. Barron Collier (Fla.), 20-2

The Cougars’ season ended in the Florida state semifinals, but they took a huge step in getting to the Final Four. For the first time in program history, they beat perennial road block Vero Beach in the regional final. Previous: 10

1. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 22-2

The Ramblers have stretched their winning streak to 13 games after defeating Barrington (Ill.) 18-3, Glenbrook South (Ill.) 16-2 and Catholic Central (Mich.) 16-4 last week. Northwestern commit Brennan Dwyer scored 15 goals and added six assists for the week. Previous: 1

2. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 14-2

The Golden Bears were idle last week as they awaits the state playoffs. They begin postseason play Friday against the winner of Dublin Scioto (Ohio) versus Hilliard Davidson (Ohio). Previous: 2

3. Rockford (Mich.), 14-2

The Rams are coming off a 3-0 week against three challenging opponents, defeating Forest Hills United (Mich.) 15-3, Catholic Central (Mich.) 17-7 and Hinsdale Central (Ill.) 16-9. Karrington Vander Molen scored five times in the win over Catholic Central Catholic. Previous: 3

4. Massillon Jackson (Ohio), 17-0

The Polar Bears remained unbeaten last week after wins against North Canton Hoover (Ohio), Revere (Ohio) and Thomas Worthington (Ohio). Senior Julia Hartnett totaled 16 goals for the week. Jackson then beat Youngstown Boardman (Ohio) 24-3 on Monday in a first-round regional playoff game. Previous: 4

5. Eden Prairie (Minn.), 9-0

Brooke Lewis scored nine goals over two games last week to help Eden Prairie to a 9-0 start. The Eagles defeated Hopkins (Minn.) 19-1 on May 9 and Holy Family Catholic 20-8 on Thursday. Sammie Morton had a pair of four-goal games last week. Previous: 6

6. New Trier (Ill.), 18-3

The Trevians closed out the regular season last week with wins over York (Ill.), Lake Forest (Ill.) and Arrowhead (Wisc.). Katherine Gjersten scored seven goals against York. New Trier begins the state playoffs this week. Previous: 7

7. Catholic Central (Mich.), 10-4-1

Catholic Central picked up a 14-6 win over East Grand Rapids on May 8, but lost to two of the top three teams in the region later on last week. Catholic Central fell to Rockford (Mich.) on Wednesday and Loyola Academy on Saturday. Previous: 8 

8. Hinsdale Central (Ill.), 12-5

Hinsdale finished the regular season on a losing note, falling to Rockford (Mich.) 16-9 on Saturday after collecting wins against Lyons Township (Ill.), Montini Catholic (Ill.) and Cranbrook Kingswood (Mich.) last week. Anna Santulli had hat tricks in all three of those wins. Previous: 9

9. Hudson (Ohio), 13-2

The Explorers have won 12 in a row following victories over Medina (Ohio) and Rocky River (Ohio) last week. Hudson begins postseason play against Solon (Ohio) on Tuesday. Previous: 10

1. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 23-0

After spotting Poway two early goals, the Falcons soared back for a 15-5 win Saturday to claim the CIF San Diego Section Open Division championship and cap their first perfect season. Taylor Scornavacco led the way with four goals, while Marisa Kubera and Kelly McKinnon added hat tricks, and the defense held the Titans without a goal for more than 30 minutes after allowing the two early goals. Torrey Pines beat La Costa Canyon 17-9 in the semifinals. Previous: 1 

2. Novato (Calif.), 23-1

The Hornets avenged their only loss in beating Davis (Calif.) 15-8 on Friday to advance to the North Coast Section Division I semifinals, where they face Oak Ridge (Calif.) on Tuesday. Novato opened the tournament Wednesday with a 22-7 win over Acalanes (Calif.). Charlie Rudy finished with 13 goals and four assists for the two games, while Jamie Level added seven goals and four assists and Allie Level had nine goals and three assists. Previous: 2  

3. Colorado Academy (Colo.), 14-2

The top-seeded Mustangs made quick work of Cheyenne Mountain (Colo.) in the second round of the CHSAA tournament Friday, as Lauren Russell and Claire Wright each tallied five goals. Sloane Murphy contributed four goals and one assist and Sydney Prokupek had two goals and three assists. Colorado meets eight-seeded Dakota Ridge (Colo.) in the quarterfinals Wednesday. Previous: 3

4. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.) 10-6

The Wildcats ended a tough season on a high note, cruising to a 14-6 win over former No. 5 California High (Calif.) on May 2. Three of their losses came against teams that have been nationally-ranked this season and two others were against the No. 2 and 3 teams in the West. St. Ignatius has no postseason, as the West Bay Athletic League disbanded for girls lacrosse and the Central Coast Section offers no tournament. Previous: 4

5. California High (Calif.), 17-3

Marissa Leonardi scored three goals and Ashley Ward added one goal and three assists to lead the Grizzlies into the North Coast Section Division I semifinals with a 10-4 win over Dougherty Valley (Calif.) on Friday. They meet San Ramon Valley (Calif.) on Tuesday for a shot at the championship. Previous: 6 

6. Lake Oswego (Ore.), 17-2

The Lakers head into the postseason on an eight-game win streak, which followed a lopsided loss to Novato on April 14. Last week, they closed the regular season with a pair of victories over Lakeridge (Ore.) and Oregon City (Ore.), outscoring them 36-4. Oswego is the top seed in the OGLA playoffs and meets Westview (Ore.) or St. Mary’s Academy (Ore.) in the second round Wednesday. Previous: 5

7. Bainbridge Island (Wash.), 14-0

The Spartans outscored their first two WSLA tournament opponents 39-15 last week to move into the semifinals, where they meet Snohomish (Wash.) in the semifinals Tuesday. They beat Snohomish 23-11 on March 21. Sophia Hagstromer finished with six goals and six assists in a 23-10 win over Lake Samm West (Wash.) in the quarterfinals, and Mackenzie Chapman added six goals and two assists. Previous: 7

8. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 13-3

Pearl Schwartz scored five goals and assisted another, as the Bruins beat Pine Crest (Colo.) 17-3 in the second round of the CHSAA tournament Friday. After beating Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) 13-9 in the Orange County final, the Monarchs rolled to a 21-11 win over Redondo to repeat as CIF Southern Section champions Saturday. Maddi Hooks (Butler) led all scorers with four goals and four assists, Lauren Gonzales (Fresno State) added four goals and two assists, and Grace Houser (California) and Mackenzie Wallevand (Fresno State) each tallied three goals and two assists.
