In an effort to cut costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mid-American Conference has reportedly chosen to eliminate postseason conference tournaments in eight sports, including women's lacrosse.
The Mid-American was scheduled to add women's lacrosse as a sponsored championship next season with Akron, Central Michigan, Kent State, Detroit-Mercy and Youngstown State as affiliate members. Eastern Michigan is scheduled to join in 2022.

MAC commissioner Jon Steinbrecher confirmed the news to WTOL11.
As of this time, it is unclear as to how conference champions will be determined and for how long this will be in effect.
