Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix For Friday, Oct. 13
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Fall Classic weekend has arrived. Let’s have some fun.
This weekend, the lacrosse world converges on USA Lacrosse headquarters for three days of world-class showdowns and a glimpse at the future of the game.
Coming to Sparks, Md., are players from the U.S. Men’s National Team, U.S. Women’s U20 Training Team, Northwestern women’s lacrosse, Penn State men’s lacrosse and the Canadian Men’s and Women’s National Teams.
The event also will feature the USA Select U16 and U18 teams against international competition for the Brogden Cup.
It comes at a historic moment for the sport. The IOC Executive Board announced Friday morning that it has accepted a proposal to add lacrosse (and four other sports) to the Olympic program for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, pending a final vote at the upcoming IOC Session.

2. World Lacrosse added four new African nations to its list of 90 members.
Joining the growing list of World Lacrosse members are Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Click here for more on the big news.
3. The Northeast Conference will sponsor lacrosse again in 2024-25.
The NEC will return after a two-year hiatus, will return with seven official members and two associate members. Click here for the full list.

The USA Lacrosse Fall Classic is coming to USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md., this weekend.
The three-day event features the U.S. and Canadian men’s senior teams and women’s U20 teams, reigning NCAA women’s champion Northwestern, NCAA men’s semifinalist Penn State, the USA Select U16 and U18 boys’ and girls’ teams and high school-aged teams from the Haudenosaunee Nation and Ontario.
