Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Monday, April 17
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Syracuse ready to make history?
Syracuse’s women’s lacrosse program has been one of the best in the country over the last decade plus. But are the Orange ready to get over the hump and win their first national championship? Syracuse certainly seems to be on that trajectory after winning at reigning national champion North Carolina on Saturday, snapping North Carolina’s 41-game home winning streak.
2. The Syracuse men are also on the rise.
The Syracuse men’s program is in a built of a rebuild mode, but its young guns came through in the clutch in a big win over North Carolina on Saturday, keeping the Orange’s postseason hopes alive.
3. Loyola proved its still at the top of the class in the Patriot League.
Loyola dominated Army in a key Patriot League women's game on Saturday. Kenny DeJohn was on hand for that dominant victory, and broke down more from the week in The Sunday Slide.
4. Who are the Memorial Day Weekend favorites?
Duke, North Carolina and Virginia are at the top of the pecking order in NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse right now. The Post-Week Tailgate looks at some of the other contenders.
