Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Monday, Aug. 28
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The PLL title race is wide open.
Put a hold on engraving the Archers name on the PLL championship trophy. Last year’s champs — the Waterdogs — beat the league-leading Archers 14-13 in the most unlikely fashion on Friday night. Jack Hannah bounced a two-pointer with 28 seconds left to tie the game for the Waterdogs and Kieran McArdle scored the game-winner with five seconds remaining after a save redirected to him.

The Redwoods closed out Friday’s action in Salt Lake City scoring the first eight points of the game and dominated the Atlas 12-7 to clinch the final spot for next year’s PLL Championship Series. Rookie Cole Kirst had a career-high five points (2g, 3a) to lead the Woods.
On Saturday, the Cannons secured the No. 2 seed for the playoffs with a 15-11 win over the Whipsnakes. Marcus Holman had four goals and three assists in the win, his first pro game against his longtime teammate Will Manny. Dhane Smith then put on a clinic with six assists as Chaos ended the regular season with a 13-7 win over Chrome.
