Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Thursday, April 13
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world
1. Is it too late for Rutgers to show signs of life?
An at-large bid might be out of the cards, but if the Scarlet Knights get going at the right time, maybe they can challenge for the Big Ten crown. Rutgers played its best game of the season Wednesday night, beating No. 7 Stony Brook 12-7 behind four goals and one assist from Cassidy Spilis and hat tricks from Ava Kane and Marin Hartshorn.
More women’s scores from Wednesday:

2. There wasn’t anything too surprising in a nine-game men’s slate.
Jordan Hyde’s six goals and one assist helped Utah blow past Lindenwood 22-8, and 11 players scored goals in Jacksonville’s 17-7 win over Detroit Mercy.
More men’s scores from Wednesday:

3. There are no changes atop the MCLA Division I or II polls.
Florida, one week after earning its first-ever top ranking, added 10 more first-place votes to its lead in Division I.
Rhode Island remains No. 1 for the sixth consecutive week in Division II. The Rams have won 10 straight games and own 21 of the 27 first-place votes cast.
4. We shared our April edition cover story on wheelchair lacrosse whiz Mark Krenz.
Krenz, 26, is considered one of the top wheelchair lacrosse talents in the country. The Milwaukee Eagles’ star has never let a wheelchair come between him and his passion, and he works hard to hone his craft.
5. It might look natural, but Belle Smith works hard to make her game look effortless.
USA Lacrosse Magazine contributor Emma Healy sat down with the Boston College midfielder to talk about what makes her tick and what means most to her. Underestimate Smith at your own risk.
