Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. There’s only one Chloe Humphrey — and she’s the USA Lacrosse National and Northeast Girls’ Player of the Year.
Darien (Conn.) has produced its share of stars. But Chloe Humphrey may be the brightest. The UNC-bound Humphrey has been named USA Lacrosse’s National and Northeast Girls’ Player of the Year. If you don’t know her, you will soon.
2. St. Anthony’s Owen Duffy nabs USA Lacrosse National and Northeast Boys Player of the Year.
Those close to Owen Duffy, the former St. Anthony’s attackman headed to UNC this fall, say he has an unmatched drive, athleticism and natural leadership. Combined, these traits put him up there with other Friars’ alums like Brennan O’Neill (perhaps you’ve heard of him). Like O’Neill before him, Duffy has been named USA Lacrosse’s National and Northeast Boys’ Player of the Year.
3. Sean Kirwin ready to make the leap to head coach at Dartmouth.
Sean Kirwin graduated from Tufts a little more than 10 years ago and has frequently found himself busy on Memorial Day Weekend as an assistant under Lars Tiffany at Virginia. Now, he’s primed for his first head coaching job at Dartmouth. Patrick Stevens caught up with the newly-minted coach.
