Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Tuesday, Oct. 17

Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. We’re golden! Lacrosse is in the Olympics.

Lacrosse fans woke up Monday to news two decades in the making. Lacrosse will be a part of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. The International Olympic Committee approved lacrosse as one of five new sports for the Games in a vote in Mumbai. World Lacrosse CEO Jim Scherr called the moment a “remarkable” one in the sport’s history. USA Lacrosse CEO Marc Ricco explained why the moment matters.   

2. Women capture Brogden Cup.

Though Monday morning’s news (rightfully) grabbed headlines, international lacrosse was also played over the weekend. The USA Select Women’s U16 and U18 teams claimed the Brogden Cup for the fifth straight year — a testament to the development program. Some of these players may vie for Olympic gold in five years. For now, the athletes point to lasting relationships as their biggest takeaway.

3. Men victorious at Brogden Cup.

Both the U16 and U18 men's teams hoisted the Brogden Cup hardware over the weekend. But the paths to victory were paved differently. Read more.
