Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Tuesday, Oct. 3
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Xavier coach Meg Decker receives Kristina Quigley Scholarship.
Xavier head coach Meg Decker has received the Kristina Quigley Scholarship, which honors the late Seton Hill coach killed in a 2013 bus accident and helps to subsidize the recipient’s expenses to attend the annual IWLCA convention.
Decker guided Xavier in its inaugural season in 2023 while also managing a cancer diagnosis for her partner, Matt, and being a mother to a toddler. You can read the story of her season — and how the lacrosse community lifted her family — here and learn more about the scholarship here.
2. Growing the Game on the Outer Banks.
Think North Carolina’s Outer Banks are all beaches and sandbars? Think again. Virginia transplant John Van Lunen discusses how the area has developed a passion for lacrosse.
