Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Wednesday, Oct. 25
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. LeBron James is the Paul Rabil of basketball.
The converse of that statement, of course, has been used ad nauseam to describe Rabil’s preeminence in lacrosse. But what about LeBron the lacrosse player?
King James ruminated on that very subject Tuesday in a video posted by Uninterrupted, the athlete empowerment brand he owns.

“If I wasn’t the GOAT in basketball, what other sport would I be the GOAT in? Lacrosse,” James said. “And I’d be a beast out on the field. It’s fast. It’s physical. I got pretty good accuracy when it comes to things.”
2. Speaking of Rabil, he’s adding published author to his resume. The three-time U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder, two-time pro lacrosse MVP and co-founder of the Premier Lacrosse League has written “The Way of the Champion,” a book relating sports to business and life that includes lessons from Bill Belichick, Mark Cuban, Serena Williams and others.
The book comes out May 7, 2024.
“How often do we find ourselves using sports metaphors to make sense of what's complex. That's why sports transition so well into business. There are common principles that I attempted to bring out of these passages and short chapters that anyone can apply to whatever they're doing,” Rabil told Inc.
3. The Navy men’s lacrosse team’s fall ball trip to New York went beyond scrimmages with Bryant and Penn. The team also conducted a clinic in the city and visited the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, finding Welles Crowther’s plaque and hearing about Eamon McEneaney’s legacy from Navy alum and renowned naval aviator Michael Canders.
Guys also found Welles Crowther “The man in the Red Bandana” who was a hero that day, and got to walk around the museum and see how many people answer the call to help save lives.
