Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Florida State is adding women’s lacrosse for the 2025-26 academic year, the university announced Tuesday.

According to a report by USA Today, the school arrived at the decision after the current club team threatened legal action under Title IX. The Seminoles currently compete as a member of the USA Lacrosse Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA).

All-American goalie and team captain Sophia Villalonga spearheaded the pressure campaign to get Florida State to add women’s lacrosse as a varsity sport, USA Today reported.

Florida State will become the 118th program in NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse, the fifth in the state of Florida and the 11th in the powerhouse ACC.

2. Brendan Millon has committed to Virginia, the consensus No. 1 recruit in the class of 2025 revealed Tuesday on social media.

Millon, a junior attackman at McDonogh (Md.) and Team 91 Maryland standout, is the younger brother of current Cavaliers freshman McCabe Millon, who was No. 1 in his recruiting class.

They’re the sons of National Lacrosse Hall of Fame players Mark Millon and Erin Brown Millon.

3. Allison Kwolek is cancer-free, the Clemson women’s lacrosse coach told USA Lacrosse Magazine’s Beth Ann Mayer.

Diagnosed with breast cancer in the middle of her first season with the Tigers, Kwolek underwent surgery in the spring and 30 rounds of radiation over the summer. She said she’s thankful for the support of the lacrosse community and hopes her story inspires other women — her players first and foremost — to monitor their health closely.

4. USA Lacrosse announced the 23-player U.S. men’s team roster for the Fall Classic. It includes six members of the 2023 U.S. Men’s National Training Team. The U.S. plays rival Canada and NCAA semifinalist Penn State in the Oct. 13-15 event at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.
