USA Lacrosse CEO Marc Riccio Inducted Into Greater Rochester Hall of Fame
Marc Riccio, CEO of USA Lacrosse, will be among the inductees into the USA Lacrosse Greater Rochester Hall of Fame tonight. Also being recognized are Liz Hogan, John Houtenbrink, Peter Milliman, Dr. Philip Winslow and the 2015 and 2016 Victor High School boys’ lacrosse teams.
Riccio grew up in Canandaigua, N.Y., and was introduced to the sport when he was 12 years old by a neighbor. He went on to become the first high school All-American at Canandaigua Academy, where he played both football and lacrosse. He was later inducted into the Canandaigua Academy Sports Hall of Fame.
He went on to play collegiately at Hofstra, where he played for USA men’s national team head coach John Danowski.
Riccio was named as USA Lacrosse’s CEO in August 2021 and over the last two years has helped the organization reach some key milestones, including becoming officially being named to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s Affiliate Organizations Council as a Recognized Sports Organization.
Riccio has led USA Lacrosse’s efforts to work with other leading lacrosse entities on the Elevate28 platform with a shared goal of doubling lacrosse participation by the end of the decade. The initiative was publicly launched last week, including a ringing of the closing bell on the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate the group’s formation and the inclusion of lacrosse in the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Prior to joining USA Lacrosse, Riccio spent 17 years leading business operation and development for the NFL’s New York Jets. He then transitioned to working in roles focused on strategy, growth and organizational change for major sports brands and events for a stretch of seven years, including serving as Chief Commercial Officer for KlarisIP, a boutique intellectual property and media consultancy.
Three of the other inductees into the Greater Rochester Hall of Fame have ties to the U.S. national team program. Hogan was a gold medal winner with the 2022 U.S. women’s national team, Milliman was an assistant coach with the 2019 U.S. men’s box team that won a bronze medal and TD Ierlan, a member of Victor’s 2015 and 2016 teams, was a gold medal winner earlier this year with the 2023 U.S. men’s national team.
