Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Monday, Nov. 13
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Matt Hamilton’s National Celebrate Lacrosse Week road trip brought him around the country to see how different pockets of the U.S. are celebrating the sport.
The third-annual National Celebrate Lacrosse Week, which ended on Sunday, resulted in thousands of kids picking up a lacrosse stick for the very first time. There were 76 clinics across 32 states, and Hamilton made stops at three of them in Oklahoma, Colorado and New York.
Read more here to learn more about Hamilton’s transformational experience and to see firsthand the power of a stick.
2. A couple of golden performances in Jamaica.
The Haudenosaunee women and the Puerto Rico men earned gold medals in the PALA Sixes Cup, which ended Saturday.
3. Big news from last Thursday: The Big 12 is adding women’s lacrosse.
The conference will add women’s lacrosse and beach volleyball, with women’s lacrosse beginning in 2024-25. It will include Cincinnati, Arizona State and Colorado and will search for affiliate members in the coming months.
4. The Breakthrough ID Clinic is breaking down barriers in recruiting.
With recruiting normally being an expensive ordeal — whether it be through clinics, highlight videos or club tournaments — the Breakthrough ID Clinic at Haverford College will be completely free and feature some of the top colleges in the country.
