SPARKS, Md. — USA Lacrosse and head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein have named the staff for the U.S. Women’s Senior National Team that will represent the United States in the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Japan. Melissa Lehman, Kayla Treanor and Devon Wills will serve as assistant coaches and Jennifer Kent will be the team operations administrator.
Lehman is the head women’s lacrosse coach at Rutgers University. She was the Big Ten and IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2022 and has led the Scarlet Knights to two NCAA tournament appearances in her first five years after the school had qualified only once in its first 43 seasons. She previously served as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Penn, and helped the Quakers to 10 NCAA tournament appearances and eight Ivy League titles from 2009 through 2019. She was the IWLCA Division I Assistant Coach of the Year in 2014.
As a player, Lehman was an All-American midfielder at Penn and helped the Quakers reach the NCAA title game in 2008.
Treanor is the head women’s lacrosse coach at Syracuse University. Treanor has led the Orange into the NCAA tournament each of her first three seasons, including Championship Weekend the last two years. She previously served as an assistant coach at Harvard and Boston College, helping the Eagles reach three straight NCAA championship games, including claiming the national championship in 2021 as a member of Walker-Weinstein’s staff.
As a player, Treanor was a four-time first-team All-American, three-time Tewaaraton finalist and IWLCA Attacker of the Year and finished her career with 260 goals and 393 points. She also had a tremendous run with the U.S. Women’s National Team, winning a world championship at the U19 level in 2011 and then with the senior team in 2017 and 2022. She holds five U.S. national team records, including most points in a game (12), tournament (43) and career (77). She was named to the All-World team in 2017 and 2022.
Wills is the head women’s lacrosse coach at Harvard University. Wills has led the Crimson into three consecutive Ivy League tournament appearances and her 2024 team posted the school’s first 10-win season since 2011. Wills previously served as an assistant coach at USC, Denver and her alma mater, Dartmouth. She helped USC reach three NCAA tournaments, including two quarterfinal appearances and a school-record 20 wins in 2016.
As a player, Wills has been inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. A three-time All-American at Dartmouth, she helped the Big Green to four straight NCAA tournaments, including the NCAA championship game in 2006 when she led the nation in goals against average (6.59). She helped the U.S. Women’s National Team to three world championships (2009, 2013 and 2017) – playing alongside Walker-Weinstein in 2009 and Treanor in 2017 – and was named to the All-World team in 2013 and 2017 and was the MVP of the 2009 championship game.
Kent is entering her 18th season as an assistant coach at Boston College, working with Walker-Weinstein since the 2011 season when both were assistant coaches at the school. She was promoted to associate head coach following the 2022 season. Boston College has played in the last seven NCAA championship games, winning the title in 2021 and 2024. Kent has also coached at the high school level, winning state championships in lacrosse in Maine (1995, Hyde School) and Massachusetts (2005 & 2006, Norwell High School).
As a player, Kent played soccer, basketball and lacrosse at Colby. In lacrosse, she was a two-year captain, MVP and leading scorer while earning second team All-America honors as a senior in 1990.
The U.S. women’s senior team has won a record nine world championships, including the four most recent.
The U.S. Women’s National Team trains and plays using game-changing, high-performance equipment from Cascade Maverik, Gait Lacrosse and STX.
