Pat Kavanagh scored possibly the goal of the year on Saturday. If not, it’s absolutely a contender.
The Notre Dame attackman started from X, dodged and got a step on his defender. Then, improbably, Kavanagh jumped and put a no-look shot over his right shoulder on cage. The bouncer just ticked off Syracuse goalie Drake Porter’s stick and trickled into the net. It was the most notable highlight during Kavanagh’s monster game.

The sophomore posted four goals and five assists (not to mention six ground balls) in Notre Dame’s 18-11 win over Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. For his efforts, Kavanagh is the US Lacrosse Division I Men’s Player of the Week.
