The Brine/US Lacrosse Players of the Month recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

NORTHEAST

Danielle Pavinelli, Northport (N.Y.)

Through May 5, Pavinelli was leading Suffolk County (N.Y.) in scoring with 69 goals and 25 assists in 15 games. She finished with five goals and three assists in an impressive win over Wilton (Conn.). Pavinelli has at least seven points in eight of her games this season.

MID-ATLANTIC

Blair Pearre, McDonogh (Md.)

Pearre is the senior leader of the No. 1 team in the country and she loves the role. She put the Eagles on her back in a 9-7 victory over Bishop Ireton (Va.) in mid-April, leading with five goals.

SOUTH

Jordyn Case, Weddington (N.C.)

The sophomore was named the Charlotte-area Player of the Year, a testament to the respect she has earned throughout The Tar Heel State. She leads undefeated Weddington in goals and points and has won more than 70 percent of her draws. She has stepped up in the Warriors’ biggest games, scoring four goals twice against Lake Norman and once against Charlotte Latin.

MIDWEST

Sydney Zimmerman, Rockford (Mich.)

It was a challenging month with games against Midwest powers like New Trier (Ill.) and Loyola (Ill.), but Zimmerman persevered. In six games, the Colorado commit collected 23 goals, eight assists to go with 19 ground balls, 31 draw controls and eight caused turnovers.

WEST

Zoe Ziegler, Lake Oswego (Ore.)

The junior midfielder has been a force on the draw and really all over the field this season. She had three goals and six draw controls in a 12-5 win over Bainbridge (Wash.) on April 20 and also had a goal, eight draw controls and a caused turnover to help the Lakers avenge their lone in-state loss against West Linn on May 3. Ziegler has 29 goals and nine assists to go along with 87 draw controls, 22 groundballs and eight caused turnovers this season.
