Senior Tim Rotanz and freshman Bubba Fairman each had hat tricks and senior Connor Kelly had a goal and three assists as Maryland began defense of its 2017 NCAA championship with a 10-4 victory over Navy at home. Dan Morris made 11 saves in the victory. Navy's Joe Varello won 12-of-18 faceoffs.
