North Carolina scored nine goals in the second half to overcome a 6-4 halftime deficit and beat previous unbeaten Virginia 13-9. Seniors Maggie Bill and Marie McCool combined for half of UNC's goals during a critical 8-1 second-half run that turned the game. McCool had a hat trick, six draw controls, five ground balls and two caused turnovers. On the defensive side of the ball, Taylor Moreno made 17 saves for the Tar Heels, 10 of them coming in the first half to help keep the score close.
