1. What inspired you to try out for Team USA?
When I was in middle school, I went to a Team USA game in the Bay Area. I was so excited and entered in a merchandise raffle. I ended up winning and got a jersey signed by the whole 2011 [U19] championship team. To this day, it is still hanging on my wall. Ever since that day, I knew I wanted to try out and represent my country.
2. What does playing for Team USA mean to you?
Playing for Team USA is a dream come true and a chance to represent my country. As the second field player from the West to ever make the team, it also allows me to inspire the youth players of the West to go after their dreams.
3. What was your youth lacrosse experience like?
I was on the first girls’ lacrosse team ever established in my area [El Dorado Hills, Calif.]. In order to make a full team, we had to combine four grades together. Thus, I was a fourth-grader playing with fifth-, sixth- and seventh-graders. It was definitely a challenge, but it pushed me to be the player I am today and to never back down when things are difficult.
