LOS ANGELES – The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced today that it will host its slate of Week 5 games at Georgia State Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29. Atlanta joins Boston, New York, Chicago and Baltimore as PLL host cities that have been announced.

“We’re delighted to bring an amazing weekend of Premier Lacrosse League action to the Atlanta area,” says Paul Rabil, PLL co-founder and chief strategy officer. “Led by PLL superstars Myles Jones and Scott Ratliff, the region has seen lacrosse grow exponentially in both participation and popularity. We look forward to bringing the PLL to the fans in the great state of Georgia.”

The PLL follows a tour-based model featuring six teams and 160 of the best players in the world. In addition to being full-time employees and receiving health benefits, PLL athletes receive an exclusive equity stake in the league – a first in the history of professional sports. In October, the league announced an exclusive media-rights agreement with NBC, consisting of three regular season games airing on NBC flagship in addition to 16 games on NBC Sports – 19 total games on television over the league’s 14-weekend schedule. Remaining regular season games will be streamable through NBCSports.com and the NBC Gold app.

“We are extremely pleased to be bring the Premier Lacrosse League to Georgia State Stadium this summer,” associate athletic director for sports communications Mike Holmes said. “Along with hosting our home fans with six football games per season, our goal is to bring in other premier events to the city of Atlanta. Hosting the PLL will add to this and we are excited for two days of great action in June.”
