Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Archers and Waterdogs at the break.
The Premier Lacrosse League heads into the All-Star break with the Archers and Waterdogs atop the league standings with identical 4-1 records following a sold-out weekend in Fairfield, Conn.
Jack Hannah’s two-point goal ignited a six-point run in the fourth quarter to lead the Waterdogs over the Whipsnakes 16-13 while the Archers defense smothered the Redwoods in a 10-3 victory on Friday.
The Waterdogs also picked up their 2022 championship rings.
On Saturday, Asher Nolting had four goals as the Cannons won their third straight, beating Chrome 12-6 and Chaos closed out the weekend with a 15-11 win over Atlas as Blaze Riorden made 15 saves.
2. “Cookie” keeps on going.
Two-time gold medalist and longtime ambassador for the sport, Kristin “Cookie” Carr is back for another season of Athletes Unlimited lacrosse.
3. Earning his spot.
