Dialed In: Your Lacrosse Fix for Wednesday, Nov. 15
Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
The Premier Lacrosse League assigned its teams to home markets Tuesday, establishing roots in Boston, California, Carolina, Denver, New York, Maryland, Philadelphia and Utah.
The Boston Cannons and Denver Outlaws (formerly Chrome Lacrosse Club) are legacy Major League Lacrosse brands. The other teams are the California Redwoods, Carolina Chaos, Maryland Whipsnakes, New York Atlas, Philadelphia Waterdogs and Utah Archers.
The PLL also announced it would realign the teams into two conferences. Boston, New York, Maryland and Philadelphia will compete in the Eastern Conference. California, Carolina, Denver and Utah will comprise the Western Conference.
All eight teams have redesigned logos with a nod to their new homes.
The PLL will remain a touring league for now. Each team will have a designated home weekend during the season during which it will play two games in market, giving one of the seven other teams a bye week.
The lacrosse community has been abuzz about this announcement this week and it did not disappoint. PLL co-founder Paul Rabil appeared live on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” to reveal the home cities and logos.

The PLL produced theatrical hype videos and style guides for each team. The Lacrosse Network, a league-owned media outlet, published a special newsletter capturing all this content.
